Vermeer, "Girl with a Yellow Turban" Also known as the Girl with a Pearl Earring about whom a lovely novel was written a few years ago, I wish I could remember who wrote it. Wasn't it made into a movie too? I've always loved this painting, she reminds me of one of my DDs
What a smart group of women! "The Girl With the Pearl Earring"(1665) is by the Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer. I thought the actress Scarlett Johansson did a wonderful job in the movie by the same name.
That's GOT to be one of Monet's Haystacks! There was huge special exhibit of Monet's work at the Chicago Art Institute some years ago, that must have had a dozen of his Haystack paintings. It was wonderful to see so many of them, and be able to see how he studied the change of light over time in the same scene. You'd think that painting the same thing over and over again would be boring...but not if you're Monet!
