We're having great success growing dill! Highly recommended - great for sprinkling into salad and tunafish.

It grows very easily. We grew this from seed.

Not only is dill delicious but it's also apparently a nice food for black swallowtail caterpillars! These butterflies are gorgeous and the dill encourages them to hang around. The caterpillars are gorgeous too! They only started to eat the dill when we were quite done with it, so it worked out nicely.

Is anyone else growing dill? Ours is pretty much done for the season.

Dill spreads. If you let it go to seed, it will come up everywhere next year. I haven't had to buy dill seed for years! I have to pick it like a weed from all over my garden, and since mine is about 40' x 80', that's alot of dill! The same with cilantro. I give it away by the garbage sack fulls.

You can put it in a container for your to control their growth because they can spread fast. I have learned few technique to grow them indoors too. --------- growing herbs indoors ---------

Yes ours were definitely in pots, so we can keep them under control. I did like having fresh dill for tuna salad, but they are very "tall" plants. I don't think these would do well as a window sill plant? Has anyone tried that?

Hi Liza, It looks good. Maybe you should place it under a wide container. My dill is intended for my tea, seasoning for butter, cakes, bread, vinegars, soups, fish, pickles, salads, etc. flowers in crafts. Cheers, Carmel

We have a dill plant again this year! It's starting to flower now. Here's a photo from today!

How do you use dill in tea?

Hi all, that dill looks great. I dont know what we are doing wrong but we keep killing our dill and other herbs, we do as a matter of fact have it in the window sill in a flower pot, i think my husband is giving it to much water i told him to slow down but he thinks it needs lots of water but im not really sure if thats the real problem or because its in the window seel. Any tips.

Here's two photos I just took today! Ours have gone from very wet to very dry and don't seem to care. We do give them a lot of sunshine.

Amazing those nice plants of yours. I dont get it what we are doing wrong. Maybe they did have some sort of bug.
