We just finished watching the finale of 24 / Jack Bauer. There were so many times that I could recite the dialogue before it was said, because it was so predictable. It was quite funny
I knew that they would try to keep the president doing honorable things, because 24 was lauded by the media for "helping to elect Obama". That is, because 24 portrayed an African American president as being so superb, it helped ease the American public into accepting the idea in reality. So with that "burden" on their shoulders I doubted they'd risk damaging the US's perception of a female president as being wishy-washy.
I found the actual ending very unsatisfying ... not a real ending at all.
