Martha - I think my own lessons have been very similar. Yoga has given me a sense of growth being an ongoing process, not something you 'finish', so that I am not so focused on perceived imperfections, but instead on just working each pose in the moment, however I am feeling that particular day. It has also taught me patience, as I used to be involved in a lot of competitive sports and martial arts, which were more active, so learning to slow down and do the same poses over and over each day helped me to let go of a lot of impatience, which has translated into my every day life also.
P.S. I recently posted an article on one of the few forms of Tibetan Buddhist yoga taught, which might interest you. Namaste!
