My husband and I have been thinking(and arguing)forever about baby names. We are having a baby girl and this is the name that I am conceding to.....Rhylen Bristol. Don't get me wrong - I really like the name, I just liked some names better. What do you think of this name?

I'd be interested to know what names WERE your favorites (and which were his, as well) that Rhylen Bristol is the middle ground. Rhylen is not one I've ever seen before although it sounds familiar, as a cross between Riley and a popular -en/-lynn ending. The name reads completely androgynous to me, and even with the middle name to my ear it could belong to either a boy or a girl. Since I'm not fond of androgynous OR invented names, I'm probably not the best person to ask about it, but I thought I'd leave you with my impressions.

My first impression was nearly the same. (But most androgynous names I see end up belonging to girls, so I probably would have assumed this was a female name.)

Personally, I think I would have tried to make one of the names a bit more gender-specific (e.g. Rhylan Briony, Rhylan Beatrix; Rhyla Bristol, Rhianna Bristol). My tastes are probably a bit different from yours, though, so take that for what it's worth. smile

Rhylen is a boy's name, or so it is listed on a site I found. Rhylyn is the spelling for a girl's name.

I don't know about that name, Rhylen Bristol, for a girl. It seems a bit strong and harsh, and sounds kind of like the name of a company.

How about Rhealynn?

I think that Raelyn or Raelynn (or even the spelling mentioned in above reply - Rhealynn) would be much more sensible, alot less confusing, and a lot more feminine than Rhylen. Bristol would not be my choice for a middle name, but it's not that bad.

No offense but i dont like it, the first name i can see but the Bristol all i can think of is pistol or a race track! THe first name you should make it more defined to a girl, like the others say. Its interesting though, i actually wouldnt mind it as it is, but the middle name i just can see it. Good Luck!!!!!!!:)
