having trouble understand a line in a pattern it reads like this k1 *sl1 purlways k1,rep from * to end having trouble understanding the 'purlway'

After you k1, bring the yarn to the front as if you were going to purl, then slip the st and move the yarn to the back for the next knit st. Hope this helps!

Actually, slip the yarn from the left needle to the right, but leave the yarn in back...check the picture to see which of us is correct. Generally if they want you to bring the yarn to the front they say that in the instructions.

I'm having trouble with a pattern direction also...Making a pair of baby tights and am on one leg, decreasing to foot.. Working all decreases as set b last round, dec 1 st at each end of next 7 rounds, then on foll 7alt rounds,(HERE IS THE PROBLEM) Then on 4 foll 4th rounds, then on 2 foll 6th rounds. I have no clue what to do...Help please! I am desperate!

I'm fairly certain that "Then on 4 foll 4th rounds" means every fourth row, 4 times. And then "2 foll 6th rounds" means then every 6th row, 2 times. See if this makes sense.
