HI,

A forum like the BellaOnline Forums is run by a CGI program that you can upload to your website. One of the programs that a lot of people use can be downloaded free from Matt's Script Archives. Its called WWWBoard. It comes with a lot of helpful info about how to upload and install the program. It also has been around for a long time and most of the bugs have been worked out.

I also use the phpbb platform for my Ezines Forum. I highly recommend phpbb

Forumotion.com has loads more features and is the most updated. It is quite easy to use and has great modifications. So I am going with Forumotion.

PhpBB seems to be one of my favorites too, but I'll go on record saying my favorite is vbulletin. Though it does require a license purchase.
