I registered for my grad school classes. THREE of them. I am seriously considering dropping one and just taking two... but I have until mid august to make that choice.

This Graduate degree, in Family Financial Planning and Counseling should help me become the coach I want to be, but do you think getting "certified" as a coach is something that is also good to do? Obviously I am going to have to finish grad school first I don't think I can handle both at the same time.

What is involved in Life Coaching Certification? I have looked at the websites and talked to some schools on the phone, but I don't really have a good idea of how intensive and hard the courses are.

Anyone care to share?

I think getting certified wouldn't hurt and could make people feel more comfortable with you. I know someone who does counseling and he has all sorts of degree's and I think it helps with your education in your field. Later in life you might remember something that you learned from these classes you take. :) Good luck and I think it's good you're not pressuring yourself. I'm an undergrad and I only take three classes at a time because it's what I can handle if I want sleep haha. I would rather do what I can handle instead of getting bad grades on my GPA.

Most of the life coaches I've interviewed even if they have graduate degrees also have life coaching certification. Im not exactly sure what the training entails. It probably varies according to specialty.

A new beginning. This is exciting!!!! Good luck!!
