Hi, I wonder if anyone could help me? I'm a beginner with sewing and am making a skirt which consists of one piece of material for the front and two pieces for the back. (As instructed)I have tacked in four darts at the back and two at the front. Having tacked the back seam together(leaving space for the zip), I now need to sew the front and back side seams together but the front and back pieces no longer exactly fit together (I presume because of the double darts in the back?)Have I done something wrong? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated! Thanks.
Depending on the style and size, there may be extra ease to accommodate a generous derriere or tummy. Also, many skirts have the side seams slightly offset to the back so that when viewed from the front, they appear seamless.
