I usually have one geranium plant each year that sits out on the back porch for decoration. They are pretty and have thick leaves.



Do you guys grow geraniums?

I always get a geranium or two for the porch. They're great because they produce lots of blooms all summer long.

I just purchased a really deep red one today.

That is cool Lynne - mostly I see pale ones around here. Deep red must be lovely!

Yes I have a bench on my porch and usually I put a geranium in the pot that's built into the end of the bench. For now I'm keeping this on the edge of the stairs because it looks like that bench-end pot is growing something and I'm curious to see what it does!

This is the first deep red I have seen. I'll try to remember to take a picture of it tomorrow.

I think that the red is actually a little darker than the pictures show.

Aren't Geraniums wonderful?!!! They come in so many colors and are so hardy. I have one just like the one in your pictures, same color. I also just brought cuttings of geraniums from California and potted them on my patio. They are blooming and seem to be very healty. One is a pale coral color and the other is pale lavender. Very pretty.

I have never had a white geranium, but that picture, Lisa is so pretty and has inspired me to go look for a white geranium.

I had never seen a white geranium either Phyllis, which is why I grabbed this one. I think it was at Home Depot so it wasn't at a special garden store.

This is my geranium that has somehow lasted several years now. I keep thinking it's near death over the winter, yet it valiantly struggles back to life in the spring .



I hadn't tried keeping them from year to year until these past few years.

Your plant looks really lovely, and Geraniums (Pelargoniums) are so easy to grow and propagate and there are many uses for them besides their beauty - I have an article coming soon about growing them, they are an easy entry plant for beginner gardeners too.

I can't think of any questions - I'm quite impressed with how they come back from near death! This plant was barely a green stick a few years ago. Somehow it rebuilt itself and began flowering again.

My geranium plant has begun flowering again! It has this one blossoming of flowers right now.





I love the shimmering of the petals.
