You bet they are. The images of child abandonment, child trafficking, homelessness, abuse, and sheer poverty are very real images of today's India. Two of the movie's child stars are actually from the slums themselves. I saw this movie and was devastated by the reality these innocent children face, and I felt compelled to do something. Since I'm not travelling to India anytime soon, I decided to make a donation to a charity that helps kids. As a matter of fact, a lot of people have done that thanks to the success of Slumdog Millionaire.
Have you seen the movie? What did you think about the conditions in which these children are living? Will you, or have you made a donation because of it?
