I was reading an organization site and one of the tips was to check your wallet for unused gift cards. I'm glad I read that tip because I want to go to Dillards tomorrow and I have a gift card. I'll have to make myself a big note and use it.

That is a great find Angie and so true! Apparently stores LOVE gift card purchases (when people buy gift cards as a present) because a giant percentage of them just sit in drawers and never get used! It's "free money" for the stores.

Yeah, lol, i have a whole stack of gift cards sitting around. One of my goals for the year is to USE THEM.

This is a good reminder.

It is my understanding that after a certain number of months, some gift cards depreciate in value - you are penalized for not using them. Have you ever experienced that? I received one and the restaurant went out of business before I could use it.

I think some of them are like that. Which sucks. All the more reason for me to make a priority of using them then. smile
