BellaOnline Forums TV and Movies Children's TV Books Made Into Movies and TV Shows

I had a reader write me with a concern that they had over so many books and comic books being made into movies and TV shows. They were concerned that with so many books being turned into moviews that more kids will not be reading but will instead spend all their time watching TV.

What do you think?

While I see the point as a valid concern I also hope that maybe something they see will push them into learning more by reading.

Am I just an incurable optimist?

they buy the Baby einstein Series and your baby can read from us

I am a reader..my adult children are readers..in turn they all read to thier kids. I taught preschool for many years and encouraged the parents to read the book to their kids and then watch the movie.

We are big readers at our house as well. We also love movies and TV as well. Actually after watching Prince Caspian my husband started reading the whole Narnia series to my two daughters age 7 and 8. They are loving it. They have just finished the Silver Chair. He chose that series because they loved the movies so much. We have great discussions about the books and whast is the same and what is different between the movies and books. My husband got his AA in TV production so he shares a lot of inside info with the girls as well!
