I am really finding the best advice from all the books I've read to be the tip to "choose 3 things that MUST be done today". I often make huge lists which get out of control. By starring 3 things, I ensure those get done and I get a sense of progress. If other things get done too it's gravy.

I proposed the five things idea to Dan today and he was all over it. It seems like a big relief to be able to make a list where things might actually GET DONE, rather than maintaining a never ending list of lists.

Right exactly Jill. If your lists are too huge then you always end a day thinking "Good God look at how much I did not get done!!!!" But if you focus on just 3 or 5 things then you finish saying "Look! I got them all done - and extra things too!!"

Yeah, exactly. So right now we have three of the five things done. The other two will be easy to get done by the end of tomorrow. That's the Must Do List.

On the Nice 2to list, I got nothing done. Maybe next week some of the Nice 2Dos will migrate to the Must Dos. lols.

Wow, that really makes a difference. My running to-do list just never ends. But when I thought about what three things I HAD to do today, they got done and I feel pretty good about that.

I did my 5 THINGS! Yeah! That felt great. I had all my Must Dos done by mid-friday and got half through my Nice 2Dos.

What a great idea.

Now I am writing my Five Things for next week. :-) :-)

I also decided to write on my 5 Things list a reward that I get for getting my Must Do list completed.

So that will be fun. I made a list of possible rewards for myself and will get to choose one. So since I did them all this week, I will get a reward this weekend!
