We're all scrambling for time with our daily chores, and it means cleaning often gets neglected.

I was just reading a book that talked about just taking two 10-minute cleaning runs each day, if nothing else. Get a timer, set it to 10 minutes and just focus. The book says it is amazing what you could get in those 10 minutes and by doing it daily you keep things from getting out of control.

What do you think? I'm going to do 10 minutes this very second - and then after that I'm going to go do my 10 minute of exercise smile

Lisa, this book does sound amazing, and I will include that into my fitness routine, that is my problem: focus!
My house is like grand central station too much going on always and I loose it if I don't stay focused or in a routine!

Hurrah! 10:57 and I got through an entire pile of paper, sorting it out and getting it filed away! Progress!

getting through those piles is sure hard work! I know I have little notes written about this and that all over the place, I do need to consolidate too!

I filed as well. I purchased some boxes that can be used for hanging files.

We're off to a good start.

This is a technique that many cleaning gurus push because by and large, we mentally believe that cleaning will take far longer than it actually will.

It may also help you to really think about cleaning and what it really means--what you really NEED out of it. Here's an article I wrote that will help you with that!

This is pretty much what Flylady is based on. She says "you can do anything for 15 minutes" and encourages us to use a timer for all kinds of things - esp for cleaning. When the 15 minutes is up, we are done! Usually the tasks we've been dreading end up taking far less time. :-)

What 15 minutes have you done today? I've done a lot of laundry, and a load of dishes! I completely washed everything on the bed including the comforter cover. I put a sheet over it so I can just wash that going forward, from all the cat hair.
