Email is just great isnt't it! It can be both read and written at times convenient to the reader/writer. I cannot understand why anyone would ever prefer the phone. (Unless they don't have email, of course). Great that your mother understands.

Editing certainly is an art. Most of the novelists I know really look forward to the editing bit (rather than the first splurge of words) - because it's then they feel as though they're really shaping and polishing the finished work of art.

I am really not a phone person at all. I just don't like talking on the phone. I enjoy with in person dinners when I can be with the person. I don't mind phone calls if I'm driving somewhere, but if I'm home working and the phone rings, it is interrupting something I am working on.

Absolutely, Lisa. I couldn't agree with you more. If it wasn't for some superstitious idea that someone might need to use it for an emergency, I'd just get rid of it altogether.
