This article starts:"Artist trading cards (ATCs) can spark off whole new realms of creativity for many reasons. One reason is that they are very cheap to make, and if youre not happy with a result, then you have wasted very little material and probably not a lot of time."

The whole article is here: Make your own ATC

I was wondering what your medium of choice was - I've used acrylics, polymer clay, origami, papier mache, watercolor, ink, crayons, pencils etc on various ATCs - I think my favorite is ink and watercolor.

What's yours?

Here's my first ATC - the one I get out and look at when I'm maybe feeling a bit uncreative...

Of course - I'd forgotten - my avatar is/was an ATC, too. That one is in fact ink and watercolor. The 'Creativity is me' one is ink and watercolor - it also uses watercolor pencils which are great to use.

I like to use prisma colored pencils, acrylics, or pen and ink. I have done a few charcoal pieces too. I like to create collage pieces with various materials too.

I love collage - I used to make a lot of greeting cards by hand and used to use a lot of collage techniques - I've not really used it for ACEOs, though. I will have to do it now!

What do you fix your pencil and charcoal pieces with? I've never found anything I'm particularly happy with.

What is special about prisma colored pencils? I do love to use the watecolor pencils - they are so versatile - sometimes I use them just as pencils with no water involved at all.

That's fabulous, Lisa! I hadn't thought of an ATC actually made - complete - with an origami design.

The ones I've used origami on have been where I've used an origami owl or fish on a collage background to make a picture.
