I'm confused, leave him the note to write the travelogue from your notes?

I learned to write every day in my bound books by writing the number of pages I wrote on one of those tiny calendars you can pick up in December from some business free. It was my reward for sticking with it. Now I pull up the WORD file, which I keep my current journal in -- I use a separate file for each year -- and it is a reminder to write in it. Sometimes I don't end up writing until I'm ready to close down the computer -- now, since I have a new computer, when put it on sleep -- but it works as a reminder to write. -- Lost a few days when I changed computers and had to start a new word processing program -- had to buy WORD, since my Dell computer didn't have it on it.

That's interesting Donna, so do you find you write more or less often with it being on the computer?

Hey, can I jump in here? (Since I've been jumping in all over the place here) I am writing more since I took my journaling to my computer. Writing in longhand just got too uncomfortable for me, and it was becoming something I felt like I HAD to do. I keep my journal on a flash drive now, so I can pretty much write anyplace, since I am surrpunded by computers! My netbook is usually in the kitchen, and my desktop is in our back studio. I can just plug in my little drive and write. I feel like I'm addicted to writing... does anyone else feel that way?

That's a great idea, to write anywhere!

I used to get hand cramps and such from writing longhand, but then I found gel pens with very squishy barrels and it's amazing how much better it is. I should have found these pens years and years ago.

I do type faster than I write, but I am online every day all day long writing. It's what I do. So it's a nice break to lay in bed and write out longhand, to do something different.

Oh what I meant to add to the thread is that I have missed days when I took my trips because I didn't take my journal with me. When I travel I write out long detailed notes about each day so that is my journaling in essence, although it's public, not private.

I've only journaled once in the week I've been back, I've been going to sleep quite sleepy. I don't feel drawn to it right now. I think I burnt out with all the long travelogues I was writing! So we'll see how it goes in the coming week. I'm content to write or not write as the mood hits me. Even with the small gaps I'm writing FAR more this year than I ever have in the past. I never would have made it this far into the year and still be writing regularly.
