I'm not sure if there is a batch MOBI processor - having tons of individual files would seem a pain to manage on your Kindle too though. I would suggest compiling your articles into PDF books so they are all organized well to begin with and then loading them up as single units.

OMG, they just released the Kindle 2 and I am glad Ididn't get the first generation! Now I wish it had a touchscreen and was able to do page turns that way. There is a new company called Platic something that are introducing one this summer that is 8.5X11 and touch screen. but it is supposed to cost an arm and a leg because of the touchscreen aspect and that it will have larger memory.

I've had a Kindle for quite a while, but never heard about creating a personal ebook. How do you do that? Thanks.

Jase - I definitely do NOT want a touch screen on my Kindle - I have other devices with touch screens and it's a mixed blessing. Anything you press constantly is not going to have optimal visual clarity.
I am extremely happy with my Kindle and am not seeing anything on the new one that makes me think "must have that one instead". Have you used both of them? What did you find better about the new one?

Nancy - the Kindle will let you view any PDF. So you can make PDFs out of pretty much any electronic document or image you have on your home PC, there are many shareware / freeware PDF generators out there.

my friend had a preview copy, so I haven't use a full production version. i liked the thinness of the new one and aldo the fac tthat it had a lighter feel and longer battery life. I like the "feel" of the original as well but lightness and thiness is a winovwer for me

I've never had my battery run out, ever, so maybe that's part of my lack of real interest in the new one. The existing battery is pretty impressive and has always done well for me.
The current one is lighter than any paperback book I own, so there, too, I don't really see a need to have it lighter than that. It already is a good weight for me.
A friend of mine will get the Kindle 2 shortly and I'll try them out side by side, but I love my existing Kindle and so far haven't seen any reason in the press reviews to consider upgrading!
