I think the enjoyment of valentines day is in who you spend it with and not what they spend on you. I know some women might be expecting flowers and candy. That used to make me happy too, but this year.... I'm thinking of offering candlelight, a bubble bath and afterward a massage with scented oil. Free, free, free

If anyone is financially strapped this year my idea is to give a gift that is out of this world. It's called stairwaytothemoon.com (all one word). Whenever you enter a keepsake message a new stair is added to the stairway. There is a provision to send the message to your loved one on the BUILD page. It's fun and it preserves your special note and you and your significant other can go back at any time and read the sentiment. The site is family oriented and it's free.

I love M&M's! I think that is very sweet in deed!

I also like to make my own truffles. There not that expensive, and you can be very creative with it!

I find that making my own valentines and specializing them for each person is always very well appreciated and kept as a special memory. I sign and date each one. My Mother has a box full of them and loves to get them out each year to reminisce.

This year, we are going to get together, my Mother and I, to make valentines and that in itself is a gift for each of us. To spend time with my 84 year old Mother doing something special is a lasting memory and a wonderful gift.

Walk in Peace and Harmony.

I can't invest more than 10$ to 20$ this time. So I have just thought of gifting a prepaid game card which he will be glad to receive as a gamer and some lovely ecards.
