Legends Crocket Cup Rules.

1. Only make one vote for each match. (This is crucial).
2. Do not vote for a match if you do not know BOTH the Teams in the match.
3. Vote on who you think would win. This is not a popularity contest, or about who are the best Technical Wrestlers etc.
4. All Teams are considered to be wrestling at their peak/prime.
5. Be a mark.
6. Comments and commentary are very welcome for all match ups.

Glad you liked it Obsidiana. wink
My personal favourite was the Fabulous Rougeaus vs TNA's Styles and Fallen Angel. Raymond Rougeau was always one of my favourites. I would love to have seen him get more of a singles push for Int Cont or something.
I'll pop in 'my' call of the matches later, but I don't want to influence the voting, so have fun everyone.

Matt and Jeff Hardy vs. the Smoking Guns

The Smoking Guns relied on their power for most of the match, but, it would prove not to be enough as the Hardy Boyz used their quickness to upend the Guns when Matt used a Twist of Fate on Bart Gunn and Jeff finished him off with a Swanton Splash and got the pin fall at the 8:15 mark.

The Rougeau Brothers vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels

The Rougeau Brothers looked very good in this match as they used quick tags and kept the Fallen Angel near their corner. The Rougeaus were on the verge of advancing in the tournament when Jacques missed a flying splash from the middle turnbuckle. The ref began a ten count on both men and they got to their feet at the count of seven. Daniels dropkicked Raymond off of the ring apron and nailed Jacques with a reverse DDT. The Fallen Angel quickly went over and tagged out to Styles. AJ came in and nailed Jacques with a running clothesline and covered him. He had only got a two count when Raymond came into the ring and broke up the pin attempt. As the ref got him out of the ring, AJ nailed Jacques with a Styles Clash. Raymond attempted to come back into the ring but Christopher Daniels went running over and nailed Raymond with a flying clothesline that sent him out over the top rope. Daniels rolled out of the ring and made sure Raymond stayed there as AJ picked up the pin fall victory on Jacques.

Edge and Christian vs. the Great Khali and the Big Show

Edge and Christian looked phenomenal against the two giants. They used drop kicks and chop blocks to get them off of their feet. After a couple of near pin falls on Khali, Christian finally attempted his Unprettier against Khali. He nailed it and covered Khali, but the Big Show came in and attempted an elbow drop down across Christians back. However, Christian moved out of the way and Show nailed Khali with the elbow drop. Christian got up to his feet and tagged out to Edge. He then nailed the Big Show with a dropkick as he got to his feet and Show hit the ropes and got tied up in them. The ref tried to free him as Edge came into the ring and beckoned Khali to get up to his feet. When he did, Edge ran and nailed him with a spear. He covered Khali and the ref stopped trying to free the Big Show in order to count the pin fall. Edge and Christian got the victory at the five minute mark.

Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge vs. the Pit Bulls

These two teams battled hot and heavy for almost ten minutes and all four men wound up battling on the outside of the ring. Just before they were counted out, the Pit Bulls and Grunge made it back in the ring. A stunned Grunge got to his feet and the Pit Bulls nailed him with their finisher, the Aided Super Bomb. Durante sat on the top buckle as Gary Wolfe nailed Grunge with a clothesline and scooped him up, sitting him on Durantes shoulders. Durante then power bombed Grunge from the top buckle down to the canvas and picked up the pin fall.

Ian and Axl Rotten vs. the Brain Busters, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard

The Rottens put up a valiant battle but in the end, the Brain Busters proved to be tougher as Arn nailed Ian Rotten with his spinning spine buster and picked up the pin fall at the 6:30 mark.

Ivan Koloff and Krusher Kruschev vs. the Fabulous Free Birds

The Free Birds came down to the ring to the cheers of the crowd and to Lynyrd Skynyrds ballad of Free Bird. All three Free Birds came to the ring but it would be Terry Gordy and Michael Hayes who would be wrestling while Buddy Roberts was there for moral support. Koloff and Kruschev over powered Hayes throughout most of the match and kept him from tagging in Bamm Bamm Gordy. The Russian Bear, Ivan Koloff finally nailed Hayes with a devastating clothesline and covered him, but, Buddy Jack Roberts had the referee distracted and Terry Gordy came into the ring to break up the pin attempt. Krusher came into the ring and began slugging it out with Gordy.

The ref tried to break these two men up as Koloff got to his feet, he picked Hayes up, but before he could do anything, Roberts came into the ring with a steel chair and nailed Koloff on the back with it. Hayes got up, picked Koloff up and nailed him with DDT. Roberts and Gordy then got Kruschev out of the ring as Hayes covered Koloff and got the three count.

Ivan Putski and Tito Santana vs. the Worlds Greatest Tag Team

Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas used their high flying moves and quick tags to keep Santana and Putski guessing. It didnt look good for the team of Santana and Putski until Putski surprised Haas with his Polish Hammer to Haas chest. As he covered Haas, Benjamin came into the ring to break it up but Tito Santana came in and nailed Benjamin with his flying forearm smash, allowing Putski to get the pin fall on Haas.

Kane and Big Show vs. the Nasty Boys

The Big Show has a second chance at the tournament as he partnered with Kane when Khali lost the other match they were in as a tag team. Kane and Show just hammered the Nasty Boys and beat them from pillar to post. Kane choke slammed Saggs on the outside of the ring as Big Show nailed Knobbs with a knock out punch and got the pin fall at the 2:20 mark.

The New Age Outlaws vs. the Midnight Express

Billy Gunn also has a second chance to advance in the tournament as he teamed up with New Age Outlaw partner, Road Dogg. Jim Cornette escorted the Express down to the ring and would once again prove to be a factor in the match. Just over the ten minute mark, the ref got caught up in the action and was knocked from the ring as Billy covered Stan Lane. Cornette came into the ring and slammed his tennis racket on Gunns back and the Road Dogg chased him from the ring.

Bobby Eaton then surprised the Dogg with a vicious clothesline as he chased Cornette around the ring. Eaton then went up to the top turn buckle and nailed Billy with his Alabama Leg Jam, a flying leg drop from the top turn buckle. He put Stan on Gunn and left the ring as the ref slowly crawled back into the ring and made the three count.

Andre the Giant and Haku vs. Tom Pritchard and Jimmy Del Ray

Dr. Tom and Del Ray tried hard to keep Andre out of the ring and succeeded for the most part until a miscue by Del Ray allowed Haku finally to make a tag. Andre came in and the two men tried to chop the giant down but to no avail, Andre remained on his feet and body slammed both men.

He picked up Pritchard and whipped him out over the top rope and down to the arena floor. Jimmy Del Ray got up and raked Andres eyes and nailed him with a drop kick that sent Andre against the turn buckles. Haku quickly came into the ring and nailed Del Ray on the chin with a savate kick and knocked him out. As the ref ushered Haku out of the ring, Andre covered Del Ray and got the three count and could have gotten a twenty count. Haku and Andre advance in the tourney at the 7:12 mark.

Americas Most Wanted vs. Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens

Chris Harris and James Storm dominated this match and won it when Storm nailed Douglas with a beer bottle and allowed Harris to get the pin fall at the 8:32 mark when the ref was busy trying to get Chase Stevens out of the ring after all four men wound up battling at the same time.

Ivan and Nikita Koloff vs. Original Midnight Express

Ivan Koloff made the most of his second chance as he teamed up with his nephew, Nikita Koloff to take on Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey. Cornette was absent this time from ringside and that may have been the deciding factor as the Koloffs battled the Express for fifteen minutes and Nikita finally knocked out Condrey when he wrapped his chain around his fist and punched him in the head. This allowed Ivan to get the pin fall and allowed the Koloffs to move on in the tournament.

Nice call Vance, Here's mine.

Hardy Boys (Mat & Jeff Hardy)
vs
Smoking Gunns (Billy & Bart Gunn)
Hardy Boys. Too fast, far superior wrestling skills

The Fabulous Rougeaus (Jacques & Raymond Rougeau)
vs
AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels
Very close to call. This would be a pearler. I think AJs amazing abilities would make the difference.

Edge & Christian
vs
Great Kahli & Big Show
Despite Kahli and Shows huge size and strength advantage, I think E&C would prevail due to their speed, durability (and they would need to absorb loads of punishment), and pure sneakiness. After quite some time a tired Big Show gets sick of carrying the Team and he and Kahli start arguing in the ring. (That in itself would be something since Show would struggle to understand Kahli at the best of times). Edge would take out Kahli with a spear, and Christian would budle Big Show backwards and out of the ring, and then help Edge finish Kahli off.

Public Ememy (Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge)
vs
Pitbulls (from ECW)
Actually I was very undecided with this one. I first went Pit Bulls and then Public Enemy. I think Public Enemys win at all costs attitude would put them over (or get them dqd)

Ian & Axl Rotten
vs
Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard)
Rottens brawling would not even come close to being enough

Ivan Koloff & Kruscher Kruschev
vs
Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Buddy Roberts)
A good match with plenty of blood flow. Freebirds would simply outlast their tough opponents.

Ivan Putski & Tito Santana
vs
World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin)
Haas & Benjamins skills would be simply too great. And their Teamwork is amazing. Ivan Putski would be far to slow to avoid the onslaught

Kane & Big Show
vs
Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs & Jerry Saggs)
Kane and Show are Too Big and Too Brutal. Knobbs and Saggs would simply be over matched in Power. Nuff said

Midnight Express (Eaton and Lane)
vs
New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn & Road Dogg)
I loved the NAO pre their Voodoo kin Mafia rubbish. Anyhow, despite their coolness and in ring camaraderie, I think Eaton and Lane would stick with them in ring wise and would find the winning cheat to win move courtesy of Cornettes tennis racquet. Close match though, could easily go either way.

Colossal Connection (Andre the Giant & Haku)
vs
Heavenly Bodies (Tom Pritchard & Jimmy Del Ray)
This would be a beauty, but Andre & Haku would simply be too much in the Power scale. Neither the Dr nor Del Ray could take out Andre. Theyd concentrate their efforts on tough Haku. But theyd lose in the end.

America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm)
vs
The Naturals (Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens)
I couldnt believe these two teams matched up out of a random draw of 128 teams!
AMW have always found a way to beat the Naturals. Nothing new here.

Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Dennis Condrey)
vs
Ivan & Nikita Koloff
Similar to the Freebirds vs Koloff/Krucshev match. Difference being that the Koloff Boys here are a far better unit with Nikita. And I dont think the Mid night Express are as Good as any of the Freebird teams. Would be an excellent match though. And like the other said match, Very Bloody and Brutal
