Here's the great prompt for Jan 23rd -

January 23rd - Here is a thought-provoking quote for today. I won't elaborate - just share the quote and you can jot down your own thoughts and feelings. "Never grow a wishbone, daughter, where your backbone ought to be."
~ Clementine Paddleford

Jan week 4 prompts

What are your thoughts on this one?

From Cindy's Blog:

January 26th - Sometimes having a "backbone" or strong determination can translate into rigidity or stubbornness when working with others. Are there areas of your life in which you have trouble relating to other people?

Yes! I have trouble relating to people when they put forth little effort when working with people, especially those in need. The people I have trouble relating to are those who've chosen to work with people-to increase or maintain quality of life. It could be a senior citizen, who is wheechair bound. The aide takes the senior out shopping-only to use the time to shop for him/herself. Or, someone who promises to do something-such as spend time teaching a person to read-and never showing up for the appointment. Even the cashier who doesn't address the customer or offer to help a customer find a power wheelchair so the person can shop.

I definitely think it's sort of hard to stand up to the trials of life sometimes. You want people to be nice to you - is it "fair" that you have to develop a thick skin to deal with people who are purposefully nasty? Life isn't fair though. You have to be secure enough to deal with the things life throws at you, to be able to ride through a crisis instead of folding up.
