My latest is something many of you are bound to be familiar with: when you're the only one that wants a clean house?!?!

When Only One of You Wants a Clean Home

My family is just the lazies, and procrasties!

Everyone here gets around to whatever eventually (except me of course!)

Living alone is the only way to have a clean house.

I know my mess is all mine.

I hate having to pick up after men. I hate doing their laundry, I hate their whiskers in my sink, I hate having the toilet seat left up and I hate their body hair in my shower! GROSS!

(I think I have PMS...Is there medication for this? lol)

LMAO! I TOTALLY agree with you that the only way to live clean is to live alone; but I realize I might be a touch of a control freak.

And why would you take medication for acknowledging reality?

I would say yes about my whole family being messy but then again, I'm a neat freak .....and they hate it!

I'm incredibly untidy - but clean!! Part of my untidy problem is that I moved from a 2 bedroom very large apartment, to a one bedroom one that is about 1/3 the size of my old one. I got rid of so much stuff when I moved, but there is no storage in this new apartment, so I still have things in boxes in both the unit and the garage.

I'm clean but a pilot. My problem is that I am involved in organization work and it is never done. As a result, there are piles of papers and unfinished tasks. To put it away would be time consuming; then to pull it out again, would take up more time. It is easier to just leave it out.

I did get at my husband today when, right after I cleaned out the dishwasher, he put his dirty dishes on the counter.

My kids have their moments, when their rooms are incredibly messy or they bring their dishes to the kitchen and don't empty them and just put them on the counter, etc.
I love to clean. It's strangely relaxing to me and I use it as my quiet time because they will all leave me alone when I'm cleaning because they're afraid I might ask them to do something.
They do wash dishes at least 4 times a week. Definitely deep clean their room if they want to go somewhere. So their being messy is kind of a hit or miss type thing.
It's funny because my ex was in the Marine Corp and had to have his room spotless when he stayed in the barracks...something about when he got out of the Corp...totally different - clothes all over, never could find a trash can if it was placed in his hands with the lid up.

OMG! Don't you just hate that! No one in my house can figure out how to open the dishwasher! I just with that wasn't rocket science.You would think they would come up with a user friendly dish washer! LOL

A robot that loads and unloads the dishwasher. We need to patent the idea.

Just think about our parents and grandparents who had to hand wash all their dishes! Heck I'm sure the majority of the earth's population still has to do that.

I definitely agree that every time I clean one room it seems the mysterious mess-fairy has destroyed another room. I am finally getting the kitchen under control but there is this giant pile of wood in a corner where my boyfriend keeps saying he'll build a shelf for me ...

you got that problem too? The mess fairy really visits me and its always before company comes to the door! I don't tell my boyfriend that I'm even going to clean or move furniture around- or re-organize a closet. Lord have mercy! Its like he already can read my mind and make his plans to destroy what ever I'm going to do. And if i do clean he says why? Looks good to me! Don't [censored] if you're tired later! Those are just a few- and i retaliate by saying this is why i don't have any brats!!!! They make messes!

It's amazing, just how does the mess fairy know when people are coming over to visit?

When my kids were very young the house would be a mess. Right after I put them to bed, I would take a basket and walk through the house and put all their toys in the basket. It works for my stuff too now that the kids are all grown up and gone. It was always instantaneously neat when I went to bed.

Oh - we are just the opposite.

I'm one of those people who has piles of disorganization, but if you straighten up my piles, then I can't find anything!

My husband gets me to clean by announcing we are having a party. Then I will clean AND cook interesting things. It is a win-win situation for him. Since he is the one that does the majority of the cleaning, though - I can't complain too much.

Ummm. My husband is very neat. He keeps his piles in the same place all the time. I, on the other hand, am creative and make new ones.

What are the piles of mostly? Paper? We seem to have tons of paper piles around. I need to try the do-not-mail list again to cut down on the incoming junk mail.

I have lots and lots of paper. My husband is in a club and he has to mail books to people who order them. He often has piles of books and the boxes to mail. He is also a travel agent. So he has lots of travel stuff on the desk. Stuff comes and goes. But he lays things down too.

I on the other hand am a genealogist - my own family and a volunteer with the historical society and the DAR. Therefore, I have lots of piles and projects that I am working on all the time. I am an avid catalog shopper so I have those too. I have a to be read pile and several books going at one time as well as audio books. I unfortunately am interested in too many things. I would like to learn to spin. If I do that, then, I will have spinning stuff around; and on and on and on.

LOL I understand completely your "interested in too many things" idea! I have a kiln arriving in the mail tomorrow so I can try making PMC silver jewelry. Yet one more thing for the household clutter!

I do a lot of genealogy - I got a file cabinet and folders and it is so amazing how well it keeps everything organized so that I can pull out a folder and work on it, and then tuck it away. Do you have space to have a file cabinet like that?
