I am not a major hiker for fitness or anything, but one of my most memorable dates was when a guy took me hiking up the "long path" of Stone Mountain here in Georgia.

I think I rememeber it so much, because;
1. it was really different
2. he thought about ever little thing

He packed a picnic lunch for us to eat when we got to the top. (Stone Mountain, for those of you that don't know is not a "mountain" so much as the biggest piece of granite in the world). He had a blanket for us to sit on and even had a bouqet of wild flowers for me.

Has anybody else ever been on a Hiking Date?

Gotta love those thoughtful partners on hiking dates!

Two years ago on our anniversary, hubby and I climbed to the top of Black Rock Mountain in the Ghost Wilderness Area west of Calgary, AB. At the summit, we sat in the shelter of the abandoned fire lookout and my sweetheart pulled out a bottle of champagne and a chocolate cheesecake. It was a hiking date I'll not soon forget!
