I am posting this note to seek help from one of the gurus on this board.

I am looking to buy a small blender to grind spice pastes like Thai or Indian curry pastes. It needs to be able to grind quite fine, and with a small amount of water, and/or wet ingredients like shallots, fresh chilies, ginger, garlic, etc.

Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I recently bought a blender called The Magic bullet. It has several heads and you can use it as a blender or as a coffee or herb and spice grinder.

I really like it and it wasnt' that expensive.

I wonder if a coffee grinder would work for this?

YOu could use a coffee grinder but it it's good to switch back and forth between coffee and herbs as you get the flavoring crossed up. It's better to have a dedicated grinder for each one.
