When I was a kid, the custom was to go to a Chinese restaurant for dinner on New Years Eve.

Is that custom still around?

If my grandson had come home to day i was gonna order Chinese for us, but hes not coming home till Friday
My friends are having Chinese tonight.
I'll be alone tonight

We don't do Chinese food necessarily (we do it so much, it wouldn't really make a difference, LOL!)

We DO put the kids down, pop a bottle of bubbly and have lots of little finger foods - cheese, fruit, crackers, etc. And of course - CHOCOLATE!

Every year in NJ my family would go to my uncle's house where him and his wife would prepare various Chinese dishes. Now that I have moved to SC I no longer take part in this fun filled night. This year I opened a great bottle of bordeaux, set myself out some cheese and crackers and watched Dick Clark's Rockin' new year's eve as my husband snored on the other couch
