Any top that's sleeveless.

When I was younger I used to avoid sleeveless tops like the plague but I don't any more. Especially with the hot and humid summers I have to put up with.

All those cami style tops are a bit much though. The ones with the bras showing.

Don't put 'orange' anything on your worst list. I love, love, love that color, I don't care how big I am.

I tend to think ruffles and bubble tops look bad on anyone, plus sized or not. I don't mind crocks, but I just wear them at home as slippers. You wouldn't believe how the foam insulates your feet from the cold winter floors! I can't bring myself to wear them in public though.

I don't think plus sized women look unattractive in sleeveless tops. I'd avoid skin tight ones, but other than that I don't see an issue. I do think women of all shapes should make an effort to not show their bra straps though, that doesn't look good on anyone in my opinion.

I can see myself in low low rise jeans - I'm laughing so hard I can hardly type! Now to get the picture out of my mind.

What a great list! Every item on the list is right on. I don't like to see myself in sleeveless tops. I'll wear them around the neighborhood, but I change clothes when I go out. Also, shorts could be on the list for many women.

What I wear around the house and what I wear in public are two different things. Probably just my pride, or maybe my upbringing in the fifties, but I change clothes when we go anywhere, including the mall or just uptown to get groceries.

I think what we wear around the house and what we wear in public should be two different things. Our society is becoming way to comfortable with lazy-comfortable which makes me think of another one for the list - flannel pants. I see at least 3 - 5 people a day walking around in public in their flannel PJs. And I don't just mean going out to get the mail which would be perfectly acceptable.

I've seen people of all sizes buying groceries in bathroom slippers. I always wonder how the bottoms of their slippers aren't nasty by the time they walk across the parking lot, walk back to their car, etc. I mean how much more work is it to put on shoes? I realize some people have a foot that is healing or a sprain or something, but the people I see all look perfectly fine.

I try not to be too judgemental but come on, bathroom slippers?

The worst plus size mistake is in not admitting your size and insisting on wearing clothing a size (or more!) to small.

Or just dressing badly.

If you dress well, in clothing that fits well and in colours and styles that suit you, you will look elegant and your size not as noticeable.

I always cringe when I see women wearing styles that are not suited to them (or their situation).

However, many times, plus size "fashion" is the real fault. I am 6 feet tall, and yet I find that most so -called long sleeved shirts and dresses are only 3/4 length on me (I'm not even going into the tents they call dresses!) and in ghastly colours and patterns.

Thanks heavens that I sew and can make my own clothes!

The average clothing maker is making clothes for women under 5'9" so I can see where it would be a problem for you.

I'm also going to add the other way....I hate to see a woman dressed in very baggy clothes hoping to camouflage when in fact it makes a woman look bigger and sloppy.
