So the other day I was traveling in our car with my son. I decided to use it as an opportunity to discuss the gospel with him and his approaching birthday. He will be 12 and will be receiving the Priesthood at the end of October.

Here is our conversation and what transpired:

"Do you think you are ready to receive the Priesthood?"

"Yeah, I think so."

"So do you know what the first office in the Priesthood is?"

"Ummmm...a Deacon?"

"Yes, and what do the Deacons do?"

"Pass the bread and water."

"Yea, they pass the sacrament. What else do they do?"

"Skip primary?"

I laughed and laughed.

So, what crazy things have your kids said when you were trying to go for a teaching moment? Please share! smile

OK - this wasn't a teaching moment - but I still thought it was funny.

I just walked in on my 5 yr old son braushing the cat with my hairbrush!

I yelped, "Seth, don't use my brush on the cat!"

and he goes (completely serious)

"But...she's a girl cat!"

And I can hear my husband in the living room snorting, trying not to laugh.
crazy

When my son was about 3 he came running in the house with an American Chestnut in his hand (which has a spiky casing poking all around it) and said, "Look Mommy I found a porky pine egg." I had to laugh because it "was" a good guess for a 3-year-old.

OK, Seth again (I swear, I needs to write a book about all the things he does and says)

Of course this one would only make sense to people on these forums:

I just picked him up from school, and a squirrel ran oiut in font of the car and of course I swerved to miss it. And Seth screams out,

"KamiKazi Squirrel!!!"

All my kids know about them, too. grin
