On another thread, Kimmie08 expressed a desire for decorating ideas for kids' rooms for the holidays--especially budget friendly ideas. This would make a good thread on its own.

A few ideas:
--hang non-breakable ornaments with ribbon over the curtain rod(s)
--put up a small, artificial tree in your kid's room. Let the child make paper, cardboard, dried dough ornaments to hang on it
--take down a picture and put up an inexpensive wreath during the holiday

Something else you can do with next year in mind is look for decorating bargains after Christmas and stash them away for next year. I have found some Christmas table cloths in years past. They make great, inexpensive tree skirts. Also, one of these table cloths might be cute folded like a blanket at the foot of a child's bed--for holiday color.

Now, that's what I'm talking 'bout Cela. This are truly darling ways to bring Christmas into the chilren's rooms. I get complaints every year from the kidz about decorations being throughout house on the first level and never upstairs in their rooms. So, now I'm off to Garden Ridge and a few other stores. Thanks Cela. Happy holidays.

Another fun way to decorate is to take any hanging pictures or posters in the rooms and "wrap" them up. Then when you hang them back on the wall, you trar them opn from the middle so that it looks like the present has been partially opened. But the Christmas paperis still showing around the "opened gift".

It is really cute. I first saw the idea in an Olan Mills studio.
