Hi all, I haven't posted for quite some time, but I have just had an email from an old friend who has asked me to chivvy up some support. Barbara Fowler who is now 83 is the founder of the "thread of friendship" and the longest thread competition, it is now being run by others on the committee and is suffering from a lack of entries. This is a truly international event and through it I have gained many friends and been inspired by people I would never have had any contact with.

PLEASE send in a thread, even if it is only a few yards long I know that it would please Barbara no end to get a lot more entries, you don't have to go to Taz, though it is a great experience and the deadline has been extended to mid January look at the web site www.bothwellspinin.com for entry forms, make an old lady happy!

PS we have now completed our first season running the B&B and can honestly say it has been very enjoyable and we are definitely staying open! Am now spinning singles of Merino and silk to knit garter stitch shrug, have knitted 4 hats and a pair of silk hand warmers in the last 2 months.

You mean I have a chance??? I've been practicing for this, figuring that I need to get at least 30m to the gram to be in the running.
