I used the knifty knitter loom.
These scarves I did by going around to the last peg and then reversing directions. Like going from hook 1 to 30, then from 30 back to 1 - so they were flat scarves.
And then last year I did the circular scarves by going all the way around the loom (1-30, 1-30) so it looked like those "magic scarves" that you can stretch out or flatten.
We live in Georgia, too. I used the lighter yarns, like Bernat's eyelash yarn and some of Moda-Dea's different crazy yarns. They were really soft and a lot lighter in weight, so the scarves were warm but not too heavy for down here. Of course they were only good for girl's scarves. I don't think my 17 yr old son would have liked wearing a fluffy scarf!
