Hi Trish,

I just read your excellent article and wanted to share something with you regarding Samhain.

When I was a kid I always, like most kids had a particular fondness for Halloween. But where my Halloween differed from other kids' was the next day when I would go around all excited because it was the "New Year."

I was raised Southern Baptist (no longer a member of that party) and had no idea at all that Samhain had anything to do with the new year. I still don't know if I believe in reincarnation but my childhood experience really makes me wonder!

Thank you so much for sharing that. I'm glad you liked the article. It's interesting, my family was Baptist and Halloween was our most enjoyed holiday. Maybe it was just because we were kids and enjoyed the freedom of it or maybe it was something else. It always brings back fond memories either way.

I was raised So. Bap. too. We ALWAYS had a blast. Much of my family is still So. Bap., but they are totally into the holidays... as long as I don't pull out my crystal ball or scrying mirror HA HA HA!
