I'm trying to figure out if I can start up a small housecleaning/meal prep job- very p/t to add to our household income. I would love to be able to bring my two small children along or at least one if a relative can assist w/that. I just don't know where to begin? I'm a great cook, can be very neat w/cleaning but don't know what to charge...hourly or a flat rate? Gas prices are really making it difficult to work out of the house or travel any distance when you pay for childcare. Any suggestions are greatly valued.

Hi aeg73,

Have you checked your local paper? There are often ads for housecleaning, for one or two days. If you decide to go this route, call and make an inquiry. Just be sure to explain your situation with your children. You may be able to add significantly to your budget with just 2 days of housecleaning work.
