You may not hear as much about Olympic tennis as you do about swimming or gymnastics, but men and women are playing both singles and doubles in Beijing.

The story around Olympic tennis is more about who's not there than who is actually playing. Maria Sharapova is out with an injury, as are Serb's Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, and American Lindsay Davenport has withdrawn from singles competition. It's pretty much the same on the men's side - Baghdatis, Ancic, Karlovic and Ljubicic are all out. American Andy Roddick didn't even bother to show up.

What do you think? Why are so many of the top players not in Beijing? Is the regular tour schedule contributing to injuries or is that just an excuse not to travel to China right before the U.S. Open?

The upsets are starting to come in from Beijing. Roger Federer, Venus Williams and sister Serena Williams were all upset victims today.

James Blake (USA) def. Roger Federer (SWI) 6-4 7-6
Li Na (CHN) def. Venus Williams (USA) 7-5 7-5
Elena Dementieva (RUS) def. Serena Williams (USA) 3-6 6-4 6-3

Any predictions on who will win Gold?
