Why is it always necessary to pay large amounts of money at the beauty salon, at the mall for clothing, at the nail shop for pedicures and manicures, at the car dealership for the top of the line car and go in debt, deep debt as black people?Women in specific.

Shouldn't we be concerned with saving money for hard times coming our way as Americans?

How 'bout its time out for keeping up with the JOnes's. Whatta' ya think.

The attitude of "You DESERVE ___" (fill in the blank) is what got so many people in trouble. I think we deserve to live debt-free, with peace of mind. That's worth a whole load of ___.

You are absolutely right. The need to keep up with everybody has left people (women especially) busted, disgusted, and totally broke.

I find that we do not have a sense of saving. Instead, as soon as we get a little cash in our hands, we are splurging, only to have regrets later on. It is a vicious cycle. We need to learnto say no to ourselves, and find out what we need to do, to make sure our bottom line does not bottom out.

I will be discussing debt and finances in the very near future. Stay posted, I'd love to hear more input and maybe your thoughts on what we can do as black people.
