The first unsuspecting victims were "caught" on TV in 1948 when Allen Funt's Candid Microphone (later to be called Candid Camera) premiered. The show was started during World War 11, when prankster Funt secretly taped fellow soldiers' gripes and aired them over Armed Forces Radio!
