The opening ceremonies for the Olympics were absolutely gorgeous last night! I have seen lots of fanfare, and lots of splash before (including here in my beloved Atlanta), but I don't think I have seen such beauty and grace represented before.
My favorite part of the whole thing had to have been the Tai Chi portion. The young lady looked like she was doing slow motion ballet as much as a martial art. Talk about beauty and grace! The guy was wonderful, too, but everytime the camera came back to her I was just riveted. I have chill bumps thinking about it now!
I enjoyed it, too, Michelle. It was a great story all the way through, and I loved the Tai Chi, too--such precision and grace. I've got to give it another try!
And, that whole creating the art piece! Wow! Genius!
I loved the entire opening ceremony. What got me was how precise the Tai Chi crowd was with their circles and movements but the announcers said there were no marks on the floor for them to follow. Amazing!
That shows you the amount of training they put into that performance. Sorry for the delay in answering. I finally found a video of the performance in case anyone missed it.
