I have just returned from a meeting where I was offered a position as a writer for a new national entertainment magazine. I was offered to cover the gospel entertainment section. However, they wanted me to write from a "non-offensive, wide spiritual, inclusive" (non-Christian)perspective.

Now, I don't know about any of you, but doesn't "gospel" mean the good news of Jesus Christ? How can I cover stories that are about "spirituality" for "spiritual people" without Christ. If I take Christ out of what I do, then it is no longer Christian.

We modern day Christians are so afaid to offend people in the name of tolerence that we are denying our mandate to proclaim the Gospel to all. Souls are being lost. People are confused about where we stand. We must be bold, but with love. We cannot afford to comprise in the name of money, fame, or "spirituality".

"But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 10:33).

Needless to say, I respectfully declined the offer and we parted on good terms. Who knows, maybe one day they will call me up wanting to know who Jesus is. I made sure I left the door open for potential communication.

It soundes like they wanted you to just comment on the music, and ignore the words. But the words are the part that is the most important in Gospel music.

But a non-Christian entertainment arean wouldn't understand that.

Hopefully after a few more interviews with prospetive writers they'll get the message.

It's like asking a pastor to do a Christian-living article, bnut don't mention God anywhere, LOL!

Oh - but congrats on being offered the post though! laugh
