i have been buying, south beach n other cereal bars they all look like they should be hanging in a birds cage, n taste just as bad as they look.
is there any thing healthy out there that taste good i haven't found it. i have tried Nutri Grain, Kashi n Special K.
they all belong in a birds cage

I don't buy them myself for the reasons you mention. It's just as easy, to me, to get some snack sized bags and fill them with things like sunflower seeds or nuts, or even carry a box of whole grain crackers.

You can keep hummus around too to spread on the crackers and it makes a very healthy snack.

Most commercial bars contain lots of sugar and additives that make them basically not that healthy.

I couldn't handle the true cereal bars so i just decided to become a fruit junkie. Fruit every morning. Variety is the key. Peaches on monday morning, apples on tuesday morning, oranges on wednesday morning...

Oh my, It sounds like I'm in the minority but I really like breakfast bars. I love the Special K ones and Nutri Grain bars are pretty tasty too. They do have sugars and additives and hfcs but I think they're a great snack. I've been wanting to make my own but haven't yet. Does anyone else make breakfast bars or have recipes to share?

If you need a cereal bar, try Nature's Choice. (fruit juice concentrate, fruit juice puree, tapioca starch, vegetable glycerin, pineapple juice syrup, oat flour, barley flour, oat flakes, rice flour.....

still a lot of ingredients... no fructose corn syrup.
I call it healthy [censored].

These aren't real cereal bars - but they are called Moosetracks....I have found them in Target Superstores....They are coffee flavored - like Mocha, etc...They are more like granola bars, but they would do...
