Hi. We have a 2.5 year old son and tried for a 2nd child last summer. However, I had a miscarriage somewhere around 8 - 10 weeks, which the doctors estimated based on the size. I had a D&C procedure done and we have just recently started to discuss trying again. I am very nervous this may happen again and am wondering if I should consult my doctor first about my concerns. They never told me what could have caused the miscarriage, which I presume is normal?

That's an early miscarriage, which means something was fundamentally wrong with the child... it's no real comfort, just a fact we can manage to accept with time.

Frankly, it sounds like your odds are pretty good! Some people have a lot more miscarriages as opposed to successful pregnancies.
