I found a two DVD set about tae bo that i picked up at a garage sale. I am excited to give it a try but have been waiting to use it with DH (sometimes it's hard to get him to do a workout DVD with me). I have never done tae bo. It's a lot of kicking? Is it more like a straight workout or a new martial art form?

What are people's experiences with tae bo?

I have the Billy Blanks Tae Bo DVD's. It's more of a workout than a martial art. I enjoy doing it as an extra form of exercise for a little variety. If I do it too often I find it's hard on my knees. It must be from all of the kicking. Lots of punching in it too. I think you'll have fun with it.

I still have not tried it yet - I am waiting for DH to do it with me. I think I will enjoy the kicking and punching too.

Does one need a punching bag?

No punching bag needed, but a little imagination helps.

Imagination helps a lot when doing it and getting the full effect. Definitely not going to make you a Martial Artist but WOW is it a workout. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a really solid aerobic workout.
