The Swat team just raided the apartment next door to me, It happened just like you see on TV. they drove up in a box truck and didn't knock on the door used that thingy to bust the door down. It ended up 3 guys hand cuffed and were laying on the ground. the apartment was trashed looking for drugs. Rifles were drawn (big ones). i'm still a wreck, very exciting.

WOW! Nothing exciting like that ever happens around here! Did they have any canine units?

Yes, the works. their are still cops their, the swat team has left.
2 were arrested, the 2 women that live there i don't know if they were arrested or not. i feel bad because their 11yr old daughter will be coming home from school soon.

Rosie, how sad that there is an 11 year old that has to come home to this mess. How scary this will be for her. Hope you are ok - stay inside and stay safe!!!

Yes Phyllis, i am shaking and can't calm down. I am gonna keep the child here with me till some one comes and gets her. The mother and her girlfriend was just brought out in handcuffs and brought to jail. i have to go watch for the little girl. She is gonna be so upset

They may have already had someone from DFACS pick her up from school, so don't freak out too much if she doesn't come home.

Is there someone you can stay with tonight? I know this is not a safety issue for yiou, but it might just be more comforting to stay somewhere else.

You also might want to call your therapist to talk about this. Since we were just talking about panic attacks the other day, this is bound to bring some on.

Michelle, No one picked her up at school, Shes here coloring in my granddaughters books, She came home and no one was there so she knows to come to my house. Right now were waiting for her brothers or her sister to get home.
Yup i called my therapist. my daughter, and my son. im finally calming down. my grandson will be home from work around 5pm. i get so upset now i could use a klonopin right now, send me over one

O.K I have calmed down, And the child Alexis just left with one of her brothers.
I went over to the apartment with her so she could get some of her stuff to take where she will be spending the night. You should see what the swat team did to the place, trashed it beyond what you could image. Alexis was truly upset, All i could was hug her and tell her i am always here. It's to bad what the parents do, effects the children. in such a negative way. I truly feel sorry for her and her siblings.

Man, I probably would have gone out and given myself up even though I haven't done anything wrong.

I'll bet that would have been a cure for the old constipastion.

Seriously, though, I do hope you are all right and the daughter as well. The poor thing. Today was my kids last day of school. That would have been terrible to come home to being all excited about the last day of school.

Please keep us updated. Did you have any idea that there were potentially dangerous people living next door to you?

Vance thanks, I like in a low income housing project, been here 33yrs, I has become a place i would not want to raise kids in. We have a large number of gangs, drugs, and high crime. I guess that all goes together. One of the sons of one of the women that was arrested, not to long ago asked me "Rosie want to see how fast i can break into your house." Of course i said yes, well with a credit card in hand it was only a matter of a couple of seconds, and he was in my house. We have medal doors and the housing authority won't let us drill any locks of our own on them. I do put furniture in front of the doors at night. We are fighting for dead bolts. hopefully we will get them. Sooooon

Thanks Brandii, I'm o.k for now. My neighbors are moving they got evicted. there are over 300 families here, so its just a cycle. When one gets evicted another comes in. And it just keeps going around. One gang replaces another. When my grand son moves out i will look into elderly housing which some of them are safer than here

Just an update 8yrs later
They got evicted , During those 8yrs families have come and gone I'm still here will be 42yrs this year I need to get outta here
out of almost three hundred families here only 3 of us have been here over 40yrs
And now I have a Deadbolt, and a chain Do i feel any safer NO
It's gotten worse in the past 8 yrs
