I read an article in our local newspaper about a woman who lost about 100 lbs only by chewing all her food 50 times for each bite. Altho this is probably excessive, I guess it would keep you from overeating! Your jaw would get tired.
Since reading that tho, I've tried to make sure I slow down when eating and chew longer.
That is interesting, joan! Altho 50 times is probably not as excessive as you think. The recommended number of chews per bite is between 32 and 100 times. It sounds like a lot, but to fully digest your food, it needs to be reduced as much as possible. In the best case senerio one chews their food to liquid form!
