Yes, people look at it as deplorable because this was at the time his wife was going into remission with her cancer. However, if you look at why people cheat, men and women who are going through a traumatizing thing like the possiblility of losing their spouse, they tend to end up cheating because they are looking to eacape the reality of that possibility and to just escape the trauma in general.
They moved through it and worked through it. If she could forgive him and move on, why can't we.
Clinton got blow jobs from an intern. He lied to the public when it came out, then confessed to his wife and the public. his wife forgave him. The country forgave him, and we moved on. It seems rediculous how we are treating Edwards 2 years after the fact.

I read Barack Obama's book The Audacity of Hope. It is an amazing book and I recommend it to all. If he does what he talks about in that book he will make a great president. That being said, I think he dropped the ball by not picking a woman for his VP candidate. It feels like all of us who wanted to see a woman in the white house have not been heard by the Democrats.
Unfortunately, The 18 million of us who voted for Hillary were heard by John McCain. If only Obama had heard our voice as well. But, Helen...Do you mean just any 'ol woman no matter what her qualifications? What if a man happens to be more highly qualified for the position? If you believe Obama would make a great president, don't you also believe that he would make a very careful and considerate choice of who would make a great VP? In other words, if he has passed over the women who currently exist in high positions in the political world, would it not be because he has determined that they under qualified politicians? Could it be that he did hear the want for a woman VP, but wasn't willing to settle for someone who would not do an excellent job? Choosing a VP is serious business! Would you rather have a woman in there, just because she is a woman, though under qualified? Or a man who would fill the position with excellence? Just curious! Shay
