Nice photos! I've ridden along that bike path many times, motored through the canal a few times, and the birding along the canal in winter is wonderful. You're making me homesick!

Lisa, you're photos are beautiful! I visited Cape Cod for the first time last summer with hubby and kids and it was wonderful. We stayed in Hyannis and took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard for one day while we were there. My husband and I plan to return, we loved the area so much. Our kids are teens and hopefully they will remember it fondly someday. wink

Did you guys look for Jaws movie locations while on the Vineyard? That's always a classic thing to do smile

We're going to Nantucket this coming weekend. I *adore* Nantucket, it looks like it did back in the 1600s. You can really imagine being a whaling captain's wife, walking the cobblestone streets, enjoying the fresh flowers and cherry blossoms ...

I would love to look for the Jaws locations, maybe when we go back. Jaws was one of my favorite movies. There was another thread about movies you could watch over and over and that's one of them too. I even love the Jaws ride at Universal Studios in Florida, as hokey as it is.

We mostly strolled through Oak Bluffs and admired the gingerbread houses and the beautiful scenery, had lunch, shopped for t-shirts (Black Dog Store) and enjoyed the awe of it all.

We might have possibly gone to Nantucket instead of Martha's Vineyard. The funny thing is that when we mentioned the name of Nantucket to our teens they thought it was hysterically funny. Imagine that.

Well, there once was a man from Nantucket ... smile

You don't really need to "look" for locations - pretty much everywhere you pass on the island is a location, if you just have a list to check off smile

The story told on the Cape about naming Nantucket is that all of the islands were once owned by a man who had 3 daughters; Martha, Elizabeth and Nancy.
He left the string of small islands to Elizabeth, the Vineyard to Martha, but as for the big island...why, Nantucket!
A sample of New England humor(?).
