I think Bob mowed once all last year. We had a meadow.

I'm going to do things this year, I imagine ... if you want something done right ...

So my aim is every other week. How often do most people mow?

I usually do the mowing and I aim for every week. Right now the weather is not cooperating at all! We've had soooo many days of rain that even on mostly sunny days it's still too wet to mow.

I love to mow, we are on 3 acres and have a riding mower so the job is like meditation for me, with a real sense of accomplishment when the job is done and the yard looks nice.

We mow every other week. Usually my husband likes to wait untill the grass is taking over, but we just bought a huge lawnmower and he likes to mow now.

Grass should be kept at 3 inches (per Scott's lawn service) so when it's above, it needs mowing.

Keeping it at 3 inches is fine if you live on a city lot....we're 8 miles out in the country and live on 3 acres, so I don't really think it matters how tall our grass is.

I like a lawn nicely cut, trimmed, and edged. Here in the Houston area my husband and I mow every 7 days in the summer. No more than 10 days at the most if something comes up.

It depends on the weather, the zone you are living and season. In spring we mow in every two weeks. From July on wards in every six weeks. Luckily we don't need to mow in winter as we don't have a lot of rain during winter.

Here in Northern VA where I am, I have to mow at least once a week. This summer is particularly important. The grass grows so fast! With the very, very mild winter - we have more bugs outside then normal - spiders, ants and earwigs. We have to keep the grass short so we can put down the outside bug killer. It's going to be a LONG summer. :-)
