My son is getting married next month, and I plan to take 4 3/4 inch muslin squares (backed with freezer paper for stabilization and marked with the stitch lines) to the wedding reception along with pigma pens. I will ask each guest to write a note to the bride and groom on a square, and then I plan to make all the squares into a quilt for the newlyweds. Has anyone done one of these quilts? Any other suggestions or things I'm not thinking about?

Married for 30 years with two children and a cockapoo. My husband and I own a large-scale commercial composting facility. I am currently writing a book on how to research the history of a home.

My husband's aunt is having a "special" birthday this year. Her daughter asked all the kids, grandkids, cousins, aunts and uncles to make a 12 inch block for a quilt and left the design up to each block maker. I haven't seen pictures of the completed top yet but I've heard it is beautiful.

The various blocks include embroidery, applique, patchwork, and fabric pens.

I can't wait to see the pictures!
