Did anyone see this special that aired on Friday, April 11?
Basically, the premise deals with SpongeBob wondering if he hasa famous ancestor after hearing some of his friends say they have famous ancestors. Sandy takes SpongeBob to the library, where they find a book about the history of Bikini Bottom. It turns out SpongeBob's ancestor, Sponge Buck SquarePants, saved the town (back when it was known as Dead Eye Gulch).
Then, we see the story of Sponge Buck and his arrival in Dead Eye Gulch, and how he ends up being made the sheriff. He has to figure out how to deal with Dead Eye Plankton, who is trying to take over the town.
Overall, I thought it was OK for what it was. It's your typical SpongeBob fare (sight gags, humorous dialogue, etc.) And I did like how they "went back in time" for this one, much better than how they "went back in time" in the medieval special. And this felt more like a "special" than the Friends or Foe? special (I always felt that one was just a regular episode that Nickelodeon decided to hype as a "special," because there's truly nothing about that one that makes it stand out as a "special").
Does anyone else who saw this have any thoughts on it?
