LOL, Rosie! That's why I recommend the daily "put-away". If I take a few minutes at the end of the day to put stuff up, it works so much better than waiting until it's piled up.
I developed this habit when working in an office, too. I would go ask people for something & they'd take forever digging through piles and it just annoyed me and made them look really inefficient!
So, I'd clean up at the end of the day. That way, the stuff was never more than "today's" work, and I could find it quickly. Now, during the day, I can spread out a bunch of stuff, but every morning, it's a fresh start!
