We have two dogs, but there has always been at least one dog living in this house for 17 years. Last summer, the dogs started tearing up the yard when they run. I figured it's just because they are terriers and run more often than our other dogs.

Well, I think the problem is the grass! It seems to just pull up out of the ground.

Do we have grubs? I have never run into this problem before. What can I do? Should I call in a professional? We don't exactly have money to be paying someone to come in.

Hey.. I'm new to this forum, and only a beginner at trying to manage my large yard, but I did some reading on grubs lately because I found one in my yard when I pulled up a weed.

When I searched online for some natural control remedies, I read about beneficial nematodes. I haven't tried it yet (I want to dig a little more and see if it really is a pervasive problem). I saw them at home depot for about $16.50, but it said they should be kept refrigerated and they hadn't done that, so I didn't buy them.

Anyone know if that sounds right?
